Hair and skin are acid and they don’t like to be in an alkaline condition. In order to cleanse, you must use alkaline. After rinsing alkaline off, the skin and hair are then in an irritable state. The cuticle layer is now standing apart from the cortex layer. If left in this state, the hair is in a compromised condition. It becomes dry, brittle and dull. The chance of breakage is increased. By using our Summerwinds Fine-L-Shine Cream Rinse that is basically acid, it restores the pH balance so that the skin and hair is now in a comfortable state. Many years ago, your grandmother may have used vinegar or lemon juice to rinse after she shampooed her hair. She may not have realized that she has restored the pH balance; she just knew she could then easily comb out the tangles in her hair. The cuticle layer now will lay back down tight on the shaft of the cortex layer, pervading breakage and reflecting light to give the coat a healthy shiny sheen. Even if your desire is that the end results is a harsh coat such as some Terrier coats. Summerwinds Fine-L-Shine comes in two difference forms. Liquid and Paste – Same exact product just different consistency.

Liquid – is the most convenient. Paste – has more procedures to dilute the product but it is the most economical way to purchase Summerwinds Fine-L-Shine.

Fine-L-Shine Liquid comes in 16oz, 32oz and gallons, and is a concentrate that will dilute 1 part product to up to 28 parts water, but is recommended 1 part product to 16 parts water for most coats. That means that one gallon of Fine-L-Shine will make ready to use product 16 to 28 gallons, approximately.

Fine-L-Shine Paste comes in 16 oz and 32oz jars and is in a HIGHLY concentrate paste form that will dilute up to1 to 128. It is the same product as the Fine-L-Shine Liquid; however, is much more concentrated. “Don’t pay to ship our water; add your own and save shipping cost.” It is the most economical way to buy Fine-L-Shine.

The Fine-L-Shine Paste does have some drawbacks because of the fact that it is such a high concentrate; you must spend more of your time to save money. If it’s worth it to you, and for many it is, but to others they prefer the convenience of the Fine-L-Shine Liquid. They feel it’s not worth the trouble to save the money. It comes down to how much you want to save money or do you want convenience.

Mixing Instructions For 16oz Paste:

It comes in a thick paste in a plastic jar. We recommend you place the jar in the Microwave Oven on 50% for about half a minute, until the product softens and pours out of the jar easily. Then pour the 16 oz. contents (2 cups) into a blender and dilute with 1 pint (2 cups) of warm water and then blend. Then pour that into an empty 1-gallon container and add more warm water until the gallon jug is filled. Shake well; let set stand overnight. From that gallon, you can dilute 1 cup (8 oz.) of the concentrate Fine-L-Shine to 1 gallon of warm water for a ready to use mixture. From that 1 gallon of concentrate you made from the paste, makes 16 to 28 gallons). This diluted finished product is still a highly concentration of the Fine-L-Shine that will again dilute 1 to 16 or even up to 28 of ready to use product. Now you will have the same concentration that the 1-gallon Fine-L-Shine liquid has. For the 32oz. Jar (add 2 pints of water), repeat above instructions and divide contents in half using 16 ounces of the product to 1 pint of warm water. Repeat with the remaining 16oz. and add 1 pint warm water; yields 2 gallons of concentrate. As far as the final dilution ratio is determined, it is what works best for your dog’s coat and your desired results. You can dilute less or more depending on your desired results.
